A new interactive eLearning course, entitled 鈥楲iving With Stress and Preventing Burnout鈥 is now available for 麻豆传媒映画 staff. This initiative was developed and piloted with university colleagues within the School of Education, led by two experienced clinical psychologists, Dr Steve Noone and Dr Elizabeth Burnside and an education researcher, Dr Amy Hulson-Jones. Its development has been supported by the 鈥淏etter Mental Health鈥 funding which the University receives from Medr/HEFCW.
The course is based on the latest ideas on how to become more psychologically flexible, which offers an alternative way to unhelpful thinking habits and avoidant strategies that can drain personal resources and prevent opportunities for engaging with personal values.
Psychological flexibility and well-being are essentially a series of skills that need to be practiced 鈥 this course will support you to develop the insights and skills to keep yourself well in work, amid challenging times.
The course content is grouped around five core themes:
- How am I doing?
- Talking about stress at work
- Changing our perspective on negative thinking
- Being clear about values
- And finally, if burnout shows up, what to do about it
