Research Interests
The Kennedy Group investigates the molecular pathways that govern epithelial–immune cell interactions in health and disease, with a particular interest in on the tumour microenvironment and autoinflammatory disorders. Effective immune tolerance is essential for maintaining tissue homeostasis, yet its disruption integral to both cancer and autoimmune pathology.
Our research seeks to understand how epithelial and immune cells communicate to regulate inflammatory responses, tissue integrity, and immune surveillance. By combining molecular immunology with translational approaches, we aim to identify the cellular and signalling mechanisms that drive disease progression and therapeutic response.
A central goal of the group is to uncover new opportunities for immunotherapy by defining the molecular basis of immune dysregulation. Through studies of tissue-specific immune responses, inflammatory signalling networks, and tumour–host interactions, we aim to generate insights that can inform the development of next-generation therapeutic strategies for cancer and inflammatory disease.
